UnitYard

For portable toilet rental companies with 1 to 6 trucks

Porta potty software that knows where every unit is

UnitYard is porta potty software for small portable toilet rental companies that tracks which unit sits on which job site or event, logs every service visit, and lists the pickups coming due. Built for a yard with a few trucks, not a 12-week software rollout.

Free for up to 25 units and 10 active sites. No card needed.

Porta potty tracking, not paper tickets

Four ways a 60-unit yard loses money

  1. Units go missing on finished jobs

The GC wrapped up three weeks ago. Two of your standard units are still behind the trailer, earning nothing, and nobody knows until a customer calls to ask why they haven't been picked up.

  2. No record when a contractor complains

The superintendent says unit 118 wasn't pumped last week. Your driver remembers doing it. The paper ticket is somewhere in the truck. You credit the week to keep the account.

  3. Pickup dates live in a group text

The event ends Sunday. The pickup date was in a text to the driver, the driver changed phones, and twelve units sat on a fairground until Wednesday.

  4. The big suites are built for big fleets

Routing, invoicing, payments and GPS tags at $149 a month and up, with a demo call and weeks of setup. A 60-unit yard with two trucks needs to know where things are.

Portable toilet tracking software, day by day

A week in UnitYard

  1. Monday

    Drop units, set the date

The dispatcher adds the Riverside apartments job, places units 214 to 219 on it, and sets a pickup for the day the framing crew leaves.

  2. Tuesday to Thursday

    Drivers log every stop

At each unit the driver taps pumped, cleaned, restocked, adds a photo if something looks off, and moves on. The office sees it as it happens.

  3. Friday

The list tells you what's next

The dashboard shows pickups due next week, the sites that have gone past their service interval, and any unit still sitting on a closed job.

Getting started takes an afternoon: paste your unit list from Excel or Google Sheets, add your current customers and sites, and place the units that are already out.

Porta potty service record

Show the superintendent the log, not your word

Every visit is recorded against the unit and the site: date, driver, work done, any damage, and a photo. On the Fleet plan, give the general contractor's superintendent or the event organizer their own read-only login. They see the units on their sites and every service visit, and stop calling to ask whether the units were pumped.

Porta john software, sized down

The three jobs, without the rest of the suite

The full portable sanitation suites bundle route planning, dispatch boards, invoicing, payments and GPS tags. That suits a company with a dozen trucks. If you run one to six, you mostly need to answer three questions, every day.

  • Where is it?

Any unit number to its site, the spot on the site, and the day it was dropped.

  • Was it serviced?

Days since the last pump-out per site, and a list of the sites past their interval.

  • When does it come back?

Pickups due this week, and units still out on sites you've already closed.

Porta potty management software questions

What owners ask before they switch

What is the best porta potty software for a small company?
One that matches the size of your yard. If you run a few trucks and a few hundred units or fewer, you mostly need three things: where each unit is, a service log you can show a customer, and a list of pickups coming due. UnitYard does those three and leaves out routing, invoicing and payments, which is why it starts free and tops out at $69 a month.
How do I keep a porta potty service record contractors will accept?
Log each visit against the unit and the site: the date, what was done (pumped, cleaned, restocked, repaired, swapped or inspected), any problem found, and a photo when it helps. On the Fleet plan the superintendent or event organizer gets a read-only login that shows every visit on their units, and anyone can export the log as a spreadsheet.
Do I still need porta potty service stickers on the door?
Keep them if your customers expect them. The sticker shows the last date on the unit; UnitYard keeps the record behind it, with who serviced it and what was done, so you can answer a complaint from the office instead of driving out to read a door.
Can I track porta johns on job sites from my phone?
Yes. Every page works on a phone. Drivers see only the sites assigned to them, with access notes, the units on each, and the days since the last service. Look up any unit number from the Units page to see the site it's on and its history.
How do I load the portable restroom inventory I already keep in Excel?
Yes. Copy your unit list from Excel or Google Sheets and paste it in. UnitYard reads the unit number and the type (standard, deluxe, ADA, hand-wash station, flushable, restroom trailer, holding tank) and adds them in one go.
Does it do routing or billing?
No. UnitYard isn't a route planner or an invoicing system, and it doesn't take payments from your customers. It's the unit list, the service log and the pickup list. Most small operators keep their existing invoicing and use UnitYard to know what's out and what's been serviced.

Know what's out before the phone rings

Paste your unit list, add the sites that are running now, and by tonight you'll know what's out, what's due, and what needs a truck.
